For small or micro enterprises, the first domestic invention patent with protection grant shall be subsidized for no more than CNY 3,000 in a lump sum;

For domestic invention patents that have won the China Patent Award, subsidy shall be granted at CNY 10,000 in a lump sum;

The amount of subsidy for applying patent protection grant in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan shall not exceed CNY 3,000 per application;

The subsidy for applying international patent protection grant shall be limited to applications in 5 countries or regions at most;

For patent protection granted under PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty), the subsidy for each application to every country or territory shall not exceed CNY 50,000;

For patent granted under the Paris Convention, the subsidy for each application to every country or territory shall not exceed CNY 40,000.

Baoshan District

The agency fees for Chinese invention patents, utility model patents and design patents with protection grant shall be subsidized at CNY 1,500, 1,000 and 500 respectively.

In order to encourage small- and medium-sized enterprises and individuals to apply for invention patents, the agency fee for Chinese invention patents with protection grant of small- and medium-sized enterprises and individuals shall be additionally subsidized at CNY 2,500 per patent.

Fengxian District

For enterprises and individuals, a lump sum subsidy shall be given at CNY 3,000 for each invention patent with protection granted by China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) in the current year, and a one-time subsidy shall be given at CNY 800 for each utility model (within 10 utility models) granted by China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) in the current year.

International patents

Patent application granted under PCT (abroad) in the current year shall be subsidized by CNY 3,000 (the same patent shall be subsidized according to 3 designated countries at most). The maximum subsidy for the same patentee in one year shall not exceed CNY 80,000.

Patent award

For the small- and medium-sized enterprises in Fengxian district that have won the national and municipal invention and creation awards (patent awards) in the current year, a one-time subsidy of CNY 10,000 or 5,000 shall be given, respectively.

Transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements

For the excellent projects that have been successfully transferred (exclusive transfer of patent rights) of authorized invention patents by universities and research institutes in the region to small- and medium-sized enterprises in the region for industrialization, the first invention patentee shall be given a reward of 1.5% of the total proceeds from technology transfer in a lump sum, with a maximum of no more than CNY 150,000.

Dominant enterprises

For enterprises that have qualified for the "standard certification" and obtained the recognition of enterprises with national intellectual property advantages, which are in line with Fengxian's leading industry direction and have outstanding benefits in the industrialization of independent and effective invention patents, a one-time reward of not more than CNY 1 million shall be given within their contribution to local finance; if the enterprise is recognized as a national intellectual property demonstration enterprise, an additional incentive of no more than CNY 1 million shall be provided.

Huangpu District

Subsidy for each patent authorized in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Province of China is CNY 6,000.

International patents

Each invention patent that has been granted internationally under an agreement with China or an international treaty to which China is a co-participant shall be given a grant of CNY 10,000 per country, with grants for no more than three countries;

Each design patent authorized internationally shall be given a subsidy for CNY 5,000 per country, with grants for no more than 3 countries.

Patent award

For any entity or individual that had won the gold award or excellence award of "China Patent Award", each patent shall be awarded CNY 100,000 and CNY 50,000 respectively; for any entity or individual that had won the "Shanghai Patent Award for Invention and Creation", each patent shall be awarded for CNY 20,000.

Hongkou District

Small- and micro-sized businesses

For the first authorized invention patent obtained by small and micro enterprises, a total subsidy of CNY 10,000 shall be given, and a subsidy of CNY 4,000 shall be provided for the second (or above) authorized invention patent;

For the authorized utility model patent of small and micro enterprises, each patent shall be given a grant of CNY 1,000.

Large and medium enterprises

For the authorized invention patent of large- and medium-sized enterprises, each patent shall be given a grant of CNY 3,000; for public institutions, each authorized invention patent shall be rewarded for CNY 1,500.

Invention patent

For invention patents, a subsidy of 50% of the paid annual fees from the ninth to the twelfth year shall be given, and each enterprise and institution shall receive no more than CNY 100,000 of this subsidy each year.

US, Japan and Europe patents

The first invention patent authorized by the US and Japanese governments and the European Union Patent Office shall be rewarded with a subsidy of CNY 50,000;

And the second (or above) invention patent authorized by the US and Japanese governments and the European Union Patent Office shall be rewarded with a subsidy of CNY 20,000.

Jing'an District

Subsidy for each invention patent authorized in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Province of China is CNY 3,000, and the total amount of invention patent subsidy received by the same applicant shall not exceed CNY 100,000 each year.

International patents

Invention patents authorized by the United States, Europe (including the European Patent Office or a single European country), Korea or Japan shall be rewarded with a grant up to CNY 10,000 per patent;

Invention patents authorized by foreign countries exclusive form above shall be rewarded a grant of CNY 3,000 per patent;

the grant for same invention patent shall not exceed 3 times (3 different countries, regions or organizations), and the total amount of subsidy for same invention patent received by the same applicant every year shall not exceed CNY 100,000.

Changning District

Any entity obtaining a domestic invention patent authorization shall be given a subsidy of not more than CNY 6,000 per patent;

entity that obtaining Japanese invention patent authorization shall be given a subsidy of not more than CNY 50,000 per patent;

and invention patent authorized by other countries or regions shall be given a subsidy of not more than CNY 5,000 per patent.

Putuo District

Invention patent authorized in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan or authorized internationally shall be provided with certain amount of subsidies per patent, and the total amount of patent subsidy received by the same applicant every year shall not exceed CNY 300,000.

Minhang District

Patent inventions authorized internationally shall be given a subsidy of up to CNY 40,000 per patent.

Qingpu District

Invention patent authorized in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Province of China shall be given a subsidy of CNY 10,000 per patent, and this patent subsidy received by one enterprise in one year shall not exceed CNY 100,000.

International patents

Each invention patent authorized internationally shall be subsidized at CNY 10,000;

Each utility model patent authorized internationally shall be subsidized one-time for CNY 2,500;

and the total subsidy for internationally authorized patent received by each enterprise shall not exceed CNY 200,000.

Pudong New Area

Amount of reward

For enterprises and institutions with high-value patent portfolios, if the number of valid invention patents authorized in each portfolio reaches 60 (the number of invention patents in the portfolio can be relaxed to 30 for those who have obtained drug production approvals and medical device production approvals), or the number of patents authorized under PCT reaches 12, a subsidy of CNY 500,000 shall be provided.

The amount of subsidy for each patent applying authorization from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan shall not exceed CNY 5,000.

International patents

The amount of subsidy for each invention patent applying international authorization shall not exceed CNY 30,000 and no more than 3 countries;

and the amount of subsidy for each design patent applying international authorization shall not exceed CNY 2,000 and no more than 3 countries.

Strategic emerging industries

The total amount of domestic patent subsidy received by the same applicant every year shall not exceed CNY 150,000, and that received by local strategic emerging industries shall not exceed CNY 200,000.

The total amount of patent subsidy for apply authorization from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan or international authorization received by the same applicant every year shall not exceed CNY 300,000, and that received by local strategic emerging industries shall not exceed CNY 400,000.

Annual fee

In order to extend the effective life of authorized invention patents, each authorized invention patents shall be given a subsidy for annual fee on the fourth and fifth years of CNY 1,200.

Jinshan District

and enterprise obtaining utility model patent authorization in the current year shall be rewarded for CNY 1,000 per patent.
