Zhang has been involved in patent matters related to various electrical, electronic, mechanical, and chemical technologies throughout his career.

Zhang Haiqing began his patent career at Haier where he worked as a mobile telecommunications engineer and subsequently as an IP manager for patent matters related to Haier’s telecommunications and network businesses. Specifically, he worked on negotiations and management of Chinese and European litigation, procurement of patents, and patent prosecution.
